Recently, the Pet Product Innovation and Design Upgrade Salon was held at Lingang Songjiang Sci-Tech City. The event was jointly organized by Shanghai Lingang United Development Co., Ltd., the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Design Alliance and the Shanghai Pet Association, focusing on pet product export opportunities, product innovation, design upgrades and international competitiveness.

More than 30 companies and industry representatives from Shanghai joined the discussion. Participants exchanged views on product categories such as smart pet devices, pet furniture, feeding products, care products, toys and travel accessories, with a shared focus on how Chinese pet product companies can build stronger design value for overseas markets.

During the salon, a representative of Lingang United introduced the park environment, supporting services and industrial resources of Lingang Songjiang Sci-Tech City, helping participating companies better understand regional development opportunities and potential cooperation scenarios.

The head of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Design Alliance then shared insights on pet product design trends in the context of global expansion. Drawing on international product design cases, he discussed user needs, emotional companionship, functional innovation, materials and processes, brand visuals and aesthetic differences across overseas markets.

The Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Pet Association also shared perspectives on industry development, pet consumption upgrades and overseas opportunities. They emphasized that companies should pay attention not only to channel and pricing, but also to product experience, compliance standards, brand communication and localized market needs.

Open exchange among Shanghai pet product companies

In the discussion session, participating companies exchanged practical views on overseas consumer preferences, design transformation, brand positioning, product differentiation and cross-border channels. The atmosphere was open and active, with companies sharing both opportunities and concrete challenges from their own product development and market experience.

The salon created a practical platform for dialogue among industry, design and regional service resources. Looking ahead, the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Design Alliance will continue working with Lingang United, industry associations and partners to introduce more international design resources and support Chinese pet product companies in improving design capability and global competitiveness.
